I've had my M4 for a while now, and I've been able to modify it here and there. Most of the modifications are external, but eventually I intend to upgrade my internals to increase my rate of fire. At the moment it's running on JG's M130 complete gearbox with a JG high torque motor, on an 8.4v 1100 mah battery. Possibly the greatest challenges so far have been fitting it with the King Arms metal receiver, and at one time I custom fitted the S-System outer barrel to the standard configuration. Base Weapon:
DPMS Panther Arms M4 Carbine
-The JG M4 S-System is essentially this exact same weapon

External Modifications:
King Arms Bushmaster Blackwater metal receiver
Echo 1 fixed front sight
Echo 1 delta and front hand guard rings
Echo 1 M4 RIS unit
Echo 1 Carry Handle
Custom fitted A1 length outer barrel


Internal Modifications:
Guarder metal hop up unit
JBU 300mm 6.03 Precision inner barrel
(This version of the DPMS came equipped with JG's M4 M130 Complete Gearbox ( Front Wired ) and JG's high torque motor)

Additional External goodies:
Echo 1 rail covers
Echo 1 cheek rest for LE stock
Echo 1 carry handle

Overall, this entire set up cost almost $300 when its all said and done. I will keep this thread updated as I make modifications.

Okay, so I got a little tired of trying to mount my red dot to my M4 only to have the front sight be completely in the way. I had an extra rail lying around from the S-system front end and I decided I would make a riser mount to get my optics to sit up high enough that the front sight wouldn't be blocking the majority of my field of view of my target. Let me know what you guys think.

It definitely helps, and the dot (although I didn't have it on in the pictures) sits just above the front sight. Here are some other pictures of the mount itself:

I recently installed an ICS free float RIS (which is solid as a rock) along with an ICS outer barrel. Here are some pictures of the new interchangeable front end setups:

The other day, a couple of Magpul parts came in; a MOE hand guard in dark earth and a trigger guard got installed. Here's my M4's current setup:

Might I ask this, how much did you pay for the hand guard? Because when I went to gander Mtn. for something I saw they had those hand guards for $30, but had the heat shield.

It was $30. The real steel and airsoft versions are around the same price.

ok i dont wanna thread jack... but the MOE Parts are those standard M4 parts or special for airsoft... the other is your buffer tube a mil spec or commercial spec. And i must say nice build

I completely forgot about this thread. I have since swapped tons of parts around and the M4 in all of the previous pictures is in pieces haha. To answer your questions, the MOE parts on the gun are all the airsoft versions, but to my knowledge, RS MOE handguards and stocks will fit. The MOE pistol grip that will eventually go on this gun will have to be the airsoft version to accommodate the motor. The MOE stock requires mil spec buffer tubes to fit. You can use commercial buffer tubes, but they need to be sanded down since they are of a slightly larger diameter.


Like I said before, the gun in all the previous pictures is in pieces but will get rebuilt eventually. This is my current project right now, a G&P M4 that will receive all Magpul parts and some internal upgrades when I get some extra cash:
