Hello everyone!
My name is Chris, and I'm a senior at VCU. I've been playing airsoft in VA for the better part of 7 years, 5 of them in organized teams.
I like what you've started, it's always encouraging to see local airsoft players!
There's another VCU Airsoft team, you can find them on Facebook. Not sure how often they play, though I helped organize the group. Courtland Vu is the president of the club.
I highly recommend checking out www.virginiaairsoft.org and registering there. There are games every weekend with dozens of people, definitely worth checking out. There's one this weekend down in Zuni, VA - about 45 minutes from Richmond, and there will be a lot of quality players there.
A few thoughts, take them as constructive criticism if you will:
-I saw some questionable eye protection... Please make sure you're wearing Z87.1-rated shooting glasses or goggles which offer full protection for the eyes! I've seen too many close calls to scrimp on eye protection.
-Please take care that you're not playing on public land! Again, to many close calls, and I've personally witnessed the police get called onto a 'rogue' airsoft game... Sure glad I wasn't playing there!
-From experience, advertising airsoft on the VCU campus can get dicey, and attract all sorts of bad attention you do not want. Been there, done that, had a nice talk with the chief of VCU Police (before he was arrested for soliciting a minor...). Best spread it through word of mouth.
-Finally, please make sure you're not keeping guns on campus! I was almost kicked out Freshman year for keeping an AEG or two in my dorm room... Not a good time.
Take care fellas, I hope to see you guys out and about on the field soon!
