Simple but very important process.
1. choose a distance
2. Set up a bench rest
3. aim at the exact point on your target you want to hit
4. squeeze off a shot or two watching where each one hits the target. i normally do sets of three.
5. correct for windage discrepancies by using the windage adjuster. if you are shooting to the left correct to the right. make small adjustments
repeat steps 4 and 5 until the gun is centered.
6. Once you have your windage set it is time to adjust your elevation. This is the same process as the windage correction
7. On an M4 style gun the front sight is what adjusts the elevation. screw it out to bring the impact point down and in to bring the point up. repeat until correct.
One thing to keep in mind is that you need to change targets often as you need to see where each new hole is being made. Also work in small increments it doesn't take much to drastically alter the point of impact.
**if any one has something to add please feel free as i just did this quickly and may have forgotten something important
